‘Tis CHRIST’S Birthday Season For JOY & THANKSGIVING!!!
What a BLESSING to help a child in need!!! The 8th Annual Christmas Benefit for CHRIST’S HAVEN FOR CHILDREN will be Saturday, December 19, 2009, 1-3 PM, at Little Pete’s Lake Grapevine.
We are privileged to share Christmas with Christ’s Haven For Children & Open Arms Home (abused, neglected, battered & abandoned families). Help us to share JESUS’ love for the orphans & homeless!
When Kristi & I started this Benefit in 2002, we raised $16,000 the 1st year; $18,000 the 2nd year; $21,000 the 3rd year; $35,000 the 4th year; $60,000 the 5th year; $68,000 the 6th year & $46,000 last year—all from the generous support of friends, corporations, ministries & strangers. Thank you again for your continued support this year!
Christ’s Haven For Children provides “a loving place for children to call home.” These children cannot be adopted, as most of their parents are in the penal system. Open Arms Home is “Caring for Women & Children of Domestic Violence.” To enter their program, the family must be living on the street or in a car, usually with only the clothes on their backs. We also accept used clothing, furniture, appliances & automobiles for their relocation to new homes & jobs.
Christ’s Haven For Children needs gift certificates year-round for the children’s birthdays & special events. They do not get to go out to dinner at restaurants, so they would love Chili’s gift certificates. We give tickets to Putt Putt Golf, Mesquite Rodeo, Dallas Zoo, Ft. Worth Zoo, Six Flags Over Texas, AMC movies, ice skating & bowling.
They have requested gift cards from Wal-Mart, Target, Payless Shoes, Gamestop, Academy, PetCo, Cabela’s, J. C. Penney, Army/Navy, Journey’s, Hollister, American Eagle, Zumie’s, iTunes, Guitar Center, James Avery, Hobby Lobby, Barnes & Noble, Cavender’s, Sam Moon, Abercrombie, Buckle, Bath & Body Works, Kohl’s, Pac Sun, Sally’s Beauty Supply, Lucky Brand Jeans, QT gas & Starbucks. They wish for their heart’s desires, just as we each do.
We have Wish Lists for each child & ask that you forward this e-mail to your corporation, family & friends. Wal-Mart in Grapevine gives us 10% discount & Kohl’s in Southlake gives us 30% discount on all purchases for this Benefit.

There are many ways to give of yourself and many of you were most generous this year with the abundance of disaster relief. This is one more opportunity to make a difference and share some of your good fortune with these less fortunate children.
